Tata Motors eyes bigger share of people-carrier market, launches Winger 15S at Rs 12.05 lakh

New Winger 15S targeted at tour and travel operators and is currently available at 23 dealerships across Maharashtra.

Tata Motors, India’s commercial vehicle market leader, has launched the Winger 15-seater bus at an introductory price of Rs 12.05 lakh. The company says the Winger 15S will be available across its 23 dealerships and Tata Motors outlets in Maharashtra.

According to Tata Motors, the Winger 15S is designed for the tour and travel segment and comes with a comfortable interiors that offer enhanced levels of comfort and a superior on-road experience. The vehicle is equipped with pushback seats, individual AC vents and USB charging points for each row of seats and monocoque body construction that facilitates low levels of noise, vibration and harshness (NVH). The Winger also has an independent front suspension along with anti-roll bars and hydraulic shock absorbers

Commenting on the launch, Sandeep Kumar, head – sales and marketing, Passenger Commercial Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, said: “In a country with rapid urbanisation, traffic congestion and environmental concerns, the Tata Winger 15S is a game-changing product that will address the pressing need of product performance and fuel efficiency for tour and travel operators. The Tata Winger 15S is designed to offer a unique combination of comfort for passenger and economics for the operator. The vehicle is backed with an extended warranty of three years or 300,000km (whichever is earlier). We are confident that our product will be popular in Maharashtra, amongst large families, businesses and shuttle operators.”

The Winger 15S, which is powered by Tata Motors’ 2.2-litre Dicor engine, which develops 100hp and torque of 190Nm, is 5458mm long and comes with 15-inch tyres. With an internal height of 1900mm, it offers ease of passenger movement and has 600 litres of luggage space.
