Tata Motors clock steady uptick in May sales

Tata Motors continues its steady growth in sales and clocked close to two-fold increase in its monthly May sales. The automaker retailed 43,341 vehicles in May compared to 15,181 units in May 2021. Even compared to April when Tata Motors sold 41,587 units in domestic sales, there is a reasonable increase.

Of the total May sales of 43,341 vehicles, 39,887 units are conventional ICE cars while the electric ones crossed the 3,000 mark to 3454 units. The sale of the electric cars have seen considerable bump up on a year-on-year basis, jumping 6-ties from mere 476 vehicles sold in May last year.

Despite global supply chain constraints, Tata Motors has been agile in its planning and management of the crisis situation over the last one year. The company recently unveiled two brand-new concepts – Tata Curvv – which will spawn a future electric and ICE SUV as well as the Tata Avinya – that will give birth to mid-size SUVs in a pure-EV architecture with an aim to offer driving range of over 500km on a single charge. The first SUV based on the Avinya will arrive in the market by 2025.
