Tata AutoComp conducts health camp for 1,200 mechanics under its CSR initiative

Tata AutoComp's health camp will be rolled-out in various parts of the country, with an aim to cover all major cities and towns.

Tata AutoComp Systems part of the Tata Group, conducted ‘Check-the-Mech’ health camp for over 1,200 mechanics across India as part of its CSR initiative. The free health check-up camps was carried out across 12 cities in India.

The initiative was aimed at spreading awareness on health and fitness among motor mechanics and technicians alongside other associates connected to the battery trade division, the programme was undertaken in Delhi NCR, Surat, Baroda, Rajkot, Navi Mumbai, Indore, Lucknow, Kanpur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh and Kolkata.

Ajay Tandon, MD and CEO, Tata AutoComp Systems, said: “While we are committed towards the well-being of the community at-large, we understand the importance of organising health camps for sections of the society who tend to ignore these important check-ups owing to inaccessibility and lack of awareness. ‘Check-the-Mech’ is a step in this direction.”

Ravi Gupta, CEO, Tata AutoComp GY Batteries, said “Free medical test includes clinical examination including pulse, blood pressure, vision, height and weight monitoring along with systematic examination for hemogram and urine.”

The company says till date around 1,263 mechanics across 12 cities have benefited from these camps. It stated the highest participation was seen in Chandigarh with 290 participants and 173 in Delhi NCR.

The camp apart from medical tests, also undertook counselling sessions by trained doctors for participants, who were apprised about the ill-effects of tobacco consumption.

Tata AutoComp Systems states that this scheme is being rolled out in other cities also in the coming months with an aim to cover all major cities and towns across India.
