TAL Manufacturing Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors, launched its ‘Vertipark’, automated multi-level vertical car parking system on July 31 in Pune.
The system is a tower that is designed to maximise parking space for cars, SUVs and MPVs, while using minimum ground space. The length and width of each tower is designed to occupy the space of just three vehicles and TAL claims that this system is an ideal solution to reduce investments in parking space and ease the increasing pressures on available land.
Vertipark is being offered in two modules – a 20-level module for upto 40 vehicles and a 10-level module for upto 20 vehicles. The parking slots have been configured to accommodate a variety of vehicles and TAL says that it also offers customised solutions on special request.
The system has been developed and produced specially for Indian conditions, based on the original design from MP Systems of South Korea, under a license agreement with TAL.
Since it has minimal operational and maintenance requirements, TAL says that Vertipark is perfect as a standalone parking solution for commercial, office and residential buildings, public utilities including malls and multiplexes, hotels, hospitals, railway stations and airports. It is also suitable for the automobile industry since it can be used at car dealerships and warehouses.
According to P M Telang, managing director – India Operations, Tata Motors, “India is one of the prime growth markets for automobiles. This growth can be well supported by timely establishment of a planned parking infrastructure using minimum possible space. We believe that TAL’s endeavour in developing this solution is quite timely, and offers an appropriate and cost-effective system.”

It offers a much-needed timely solution for the country’s limited urban spaces.”
Unlike conventional mechanised parking where ramps are used to lift cars to different levels, Vertipark requires vehicles to be driven at only one level. The company says that the standalone steel structure offers completely safe, damage-free parking with full security and quick retrieval. TAL’s team of engineers and technicians will provide end-to-end support for the operation and maintenance of the system over its lifecycle.
