Suzuki Access 125 goes BS VI
Suzuki’s and India’s best-selling 125cc scooter gets the BS VI treatment along with some new features.
Suzuki Motorcycle India has rolled out the BS VI-compliant Access 125, which becomes the company’s first BS VI product and is slated to be launched soon. The BS VI Access 125, India’s best-selling 125cc scooter, also gets new features including Eco assist illumination, fuel injection engine, external fuel filling lid and LED headlamp.
The updated BS VI engine develops 8.7hp at 6750rpm and 10Nm at 5500rpm, and is claimed to offer ”top-class power performance at low fuel consumption.”
Commenting on the upcoming product, Koichiro Hirao, managing director, Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, “For more than a decade now, the Suzuki Access 125 has been among the segment’s top-selling scooters known for its performance and popular tagline of ‘Kam Peeta Hai’. We are confident the new BS VI-compliant Access 125 will be adored even more and it comes loaded with new features which will further enhance the over-all riding experience for the customers.”
The new Access 125 gets a longer seat, enlarged floorboard, larger underseat storage and easy start system. On the styling front, it gets rich bodywork, stylish edgy lines, LED tail-lamp and chrome plate finish. Additionally, the new Special Edition model will offer standard USB DC socket for charging mobile phones on the go.
The Suzuki Access 125 continues to see strong demand, even in a depressed market. In the April-November 2019 period, the scooter has sold a total of 402,229 units, a 15.81% year-on-year growth.
