Tata Motors has launched an all-new Sumo Gold. The company said the vehicle has been conceived and designed for young customers. It replaces the Sumo Victa which was only available in Bharat stage 3.
Launching the Sumo Gold, R. Ramakrishnan, VP, commercial - PCBU, Tata Motors said, “The Tata Sumo Gold is a result of extensive consumer studies and field tests.” The vehicle comes in both Bharat Stage 3 and Bharat Stage 4 versions with the former having a mileage of 14.7 kmpl and the latter, 14.3 kmpl.
The Sumo Gold comes with a new headlight design works in tandem with a prominent tail lamp cluster and high power forward and rear fog lamps. A renewed front grill, wide rear with a clean back and a spare wheel below the cabin, add not only to its dominant presence but also to its functionality.
Large 15’/ 16’ wheels with wide 215 mm / 185 mm radial tyres and a high ground clearance of 190 mm are part of the package.
The new Sumo Gold is being launched in four variants - GX, EX, LX & CX - along with a warranty of 3 years or 1,00,000 kms. The Tata Sumo Gold range will be available from Rs. 5.23 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Pune).
Tata sells an average of 1,800 units a month and competes with the Tavera and Mahindra Bolero, which recently got a refresh.
