Nuance, a US-based company which offers speech recognition solutions, is in talks with at least seven Indian carmakers to offer this technology.

According to Sunny Rao, managing director, “many applications embedded in today’s cars or mobile devices require high quality voice prompts with audio feedback. This allows the user to concentrate on the task at hand, whether driving on a highway, or navigating through congested streets. Nuance offers such customised solutions for automakers."

Nuance recently organised an interactive session with leading automotive OEMs in Mumbai and Rao says they are keen to adopt this technology, which is expected to filter down from high-end cars.
