Spark Minda inks JV with Korea’s INFAC Elecs for automotive antennas

The products will be manufactured at the new manufacturing unit in Pune.

Minda Corporation, the flagship company of Spark Minda Group, has announced a joint venture with Republic of Korea’s INFAC Elecs to bring its range of automotive antenna solution to the Indian Market.

The partnership aims to capitalise on the opportunities for growth in automotive safety, connected and autonomous technologies. Connectivity-based safety features such as remote keyless entry, V2V and V2X communication will spur demand for devices like antennas products and solutions. The JV will offer multiple antenna products like rod antenna, micro pole antenna, shark fin antenna and LF antenna among others. The products will be manufactured at the new manufacturing unit in Pune.

It maybe recollected that in 2019, Spark Minda had signed a Technical Assistance Agreement (TAA) with Infac Elecs to manufacture automotive antenna systems. The Korean company has gradually expanded its business to control cables, antennas, horns and actuators. In fact, the company also makes cell cases for electric and hybrid vehicles. In fact, on August 15, 1998 the company set up its first facility in India at Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, where it produces control cables, battery cables, ignition cables, feeder cables, and supplies them to Hyundai Motor India, Hyundai Mobis, Turkey, HAOS, GMI, and Volkswagen. Infac India expanded its plant in January 2012 to establish a production base for stable product supply.
