Sons of Vikrant: A documentary on the war veterans of INS Vikrant
The inspiring 16-minute short film, which is now on Youtube, documents stories of war veterans, who served aboard the INS Vikrant battleship
Bajaj Auto’s latest commuter motorcycle, the V15, commemorated the INS Vikrant, India’s legendary battleship. It did so with its name and also by using a small percentage of the decommissioned ship’s metal to make its fuel tank. The bike may have brought back memories of the ship’s indispensable role in the Indian Navy. Now Bajaj Auto in association with Leo Burnett, has released a new documentary film called Sons of Vikrant, that celebrates not just the warship but also the war veterans who served on it.
The documentary's screening was held in Mumbai and was attended by Admiral Arun Prakash, Rear Admiral SK Gupta, Rear Admiral Peter Debras, Lt. Cdr. Ashok Sinha, Commodore Medioma Bhada, and Cdr. HS Rawat, who were part of the #SonsOfVikrant initiative, and more importantly, were veterans who served on the famous battleship.
However, the original film, which is few hours long, has been edited to be a 16-minute video which is now uploaded on Youtube for public viewing.
