Skoda Auto India sells 17,438 cars in 2017, up 30% YoY
The Rapid sedan remains the bestseller while the Kodiaq SUV and Octavia provide strong growth impetus.
Skoda Auto India has reported sales of 17,438 cars in 2017, a year-on-year increase of 30 percent. The company says the new Octavia and Rapid sedans and the Kodiaq SUV have contributed significantly to overall sales as have new initiatives like rebranding of all retail outlets and new customer-focused initiatives.
Commenting on the 2017 sales performance, Ashutosh Dixit, director - Marketing, Sales and Services, Skoda Auto India, said, “We have concluded the year well and are very happy with our performance in 2017. This 30 percent growth underscores the fact that we are optimally positioned with our current model range in India; the improved business performance reflects a well devised strategy that is in moving in the right direction for us. With the Kodiaq, we successfully launched a true game-changer in October last year. The large SUV already represents an important pillar of Skoda’s development in India. We are very optimistic with our SUV strategy for India. Skoda Auto India will continue to push ahead with its model offensive campaign in 2018.”
