Skoda Auto India has announced sales of 3,027 cars in September 2021, compared to 1,312 units sold in September 2020, which constitutes a year-on-year increase of 131 percent. While the recently launched Kushaq has fuelled the growth for the brand in India, the Superb, Octavia and Rapid have also contributed to the increase in sales volumes.

With this, Skoda Auto India's cumulative sales in the April-September 2021 period are 12,347 units. The carmaker currently has a 0.82% share of the passenger vehicle market.

Commenting on the numbers, Zac Hollis, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India said, “Skoda Auto India has managed to consolidate and move forward in September, despite the headwinds that the industry is facing in terms of some key components. We are confident of building our momentum, as we approach the festive season, and look forward to delivering an increasing number of Skoda vehicles across the country. India continues to be an important market for us globally, and we are focussing on strengthening our presence here.”

With the launch of the Kushaq, there has been a key focus on rapidly increasing the carmaker’s  network across India. Skoda is now present in more than 100 cities and has recently opened new dealerships in key cities across India.
