Skoda Auto India’s sales up in February
The company has now set up an ambitious target of growing three times to over 71,000 units in the current year before further scaling it up to 100,000 units by 2025.
Skoda Auto (India) registered sales of 4,503 units for February 2022, up 428 percent compared to similar period last year when it had reported wholesales of 853 units. The uptick in sales was primarily driven by Kushaq launched in July 2021, the company said.
Zac Hollis, Brand Director, Skoda India, said, "This is the perfect platform for our newest family members, the Slavia 1.0 TSI and the Slavia 1.5 TSI sedans to arrive and drive us to even greater heights in the coming months.”
According to the company, as part of phase-2 of India 2.0 the Slavia 1.0 TSI sedan was launched on Monday (February 28) , and the Slavia 1.5 TSI, with a completely new engine and performance traits, will be launched on Wednesday (March 3). The company which currently offers four models in India - Superb, Octavia, Kushaq and Kodiaq had in 2021 recorded a growth of 130 percent with 23,858 units.
