SKF’s Bangalore plant gets new testing centre
SKF India, a technology and solutions provider of bearings, seals, services and other related products has launched a state-of-the-art testing centre in its Bangalore plant. Its main objective will be to conduct tests near its customers for design, process and supplier validation.

SKF India, a technology and solutions provider of bearings, seals, services and other related products has launched a state-of-the-art testing centre in its Bangalore plant. Its main objective will be to conduct tests near its customers for design, process and supplier validation.
The testing centre will work in sync with SKF’s Application Development Centre to develop new products. Some of the product developments at the Application Development Centre include clutch lifter, rocker arm bearing, and cam followers.
According to Rakesh Makhija, managing director, SKF India, "The new Testing Centre will lower lead times significantly for our customers and will also ensure that we are able to respond speedily to our customer’s requirements for new products.”
The Rs 300 crore Bangalore factory has an installed production capacity of 100 million bearings. 70 percent of the unit's production caters to two-wheeler manufacturers.
The plant also produces high-end application bearings for auto electrical products made by Bosch, Lucas and Delphi, among others.
