Mumbai, May 10, 2013: Shell Retail, the only international company to be granted an approval by the government of India to retail fuel in India, has launched an educational campaign called Shell Fuel Economy Refresh to spread awareness about the advantages of its efficient range of fuel grades. For example, Shell Super is a petrol and diesel variation of regular main grade fuel, available in India, which ensures greater fuel efficiency. Shell Fuel Economy is a differentiated main grade offer for two- and four-wheelers, available in 20 markets globally including India. Under the Shell Fuel Economy Refresh initiative, the company is engaging consumers across all Shell fuel stations and educating them about the benefits of the Shell Fuel Economy range of products, informing motorists about responsible driving habits and is also holding orientation exercises for Shell’s retailers besides promoting the campaign on radio and outdoor media. The campaign is organised across Bangalore, Mysore, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Surat.

The company says Shell Fuel Economy products are designed to enhance the engine’s performance by preventing the friction and build-up of deposits over time. Fuel and lubricants are known to wear down an engine by leaving behind deposits, which in turn cause poor driveability, power loss, increased emissions and fuel consumption.

“Shell is one of the first companies to make fuel economy claims on main grade fuels. The Shell Fuel Economy Refresh campaign goes that extra mile in demonstrating that through the use of these fuels and making a few simple changes to your driving habits, you achieve fuel economy,” said Ravi Sundararajan, director and general manager, Shell Retail India. Currently, Shell Retail has 64 operational sites across five states and nine cities in India.
