SEG Automotive to display EV components, ICE efficiency solutions at SIAT 2019
Will showcase innovative e-motor system for three-wheeler e-rickshaw application and Recuperation Machine which facilitates 48-volt mild hybridisation, among a host of new products and technologies.
SEG Automotive, which has for long been engaged in manufacturing of starter motors, generators, start/stop and mild-hybrids, is one of the many leading exhibitors at the 16th edition of Symposium on International Automotive Technology (SIAT) to be held in Pune from January 16-18.
The company, which is actively shaping the automobile industry's journey from the combustion engine to electrification by delivering efficient solutions for CO2 reduction – regardless of the powertrain technology – will be showcasing its innovative offerings for light electric vehicles, in addition to its fuel efficiency improvement solutions for conventional ICEs.
Boost Recuperation Machine for 48V mild hybrids
SEG Automotive is also planning to highlight the Boost Recuperation Machine (BRM), which facilitates 48-volt mild hybridisation, SEG Automotive offers a technology for hybridising petrol and diesel engines in a cost-effective manner. The BRM enables regenerative braking, storing energy that is later converted into additional driving power, delivering extra torque during acceleration and allows 'coasting' at high speeds with the engine turned off. Through the use of BRM fuel consumption and CO2 emissions can be further reduced by about 15 percent, says SEG Automotive.
The company says its start/stop starter motors and high-efficiency generators provide significant CO2 savings and enhanced fuel efficiency not just on the test bench but in real-world conditions.
Anil Kumar M R, MD, SEG Automotive India: "Our innovative e-motor system for three-wheeler e-rickshaw application is best in class in terms of its operating efficiency."
“The Indian market provides an immediate opportunity for electrification of light vehicles with relatively lower power demands. Our current product portfolio has good synergy with these power classes. With our deep understanding of the requirements of the Indian market, we adapted our products to meet the electrification needs of light vehicles. Our innovative e-motor system for three-wheeler e-rickshaw application is best in class in terms of its operating efficiency. It consumes less energy from the battery for the same driving distance, thereby resulting in increased mileage and reduced cost of ownership. We are glad to showcase our offerings for light vehicle electrification in the upcoming SIAT Expo 2019,” said Anil Kumar M R, managing director, SEG Automotive India.
At the SIAT Expo 2019, SEG Automotive is present in Hall – A, Stall No.149.
