Schenker India to handle VW India’s aftermarket warehouse operations in NCR and Bangalore

Integrated logistics services provider Schenker India is to manage the aftermarket warehouse operations of Volkswagen India in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Bangalore.

The company would be responsible for receiving, binning, pick, pack and dispatch operations in the aftermarket spare parts warehouse of Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Porsche and Lamborghini spare parts and accessories through its skilled and trained staff.

VW India’s NCR warehouse, located at Sultanpur, Gurgaon, is spread across 120,000 square feet and the one in Bangalore covers 55,000 square feet. DB Schenker has successfully begun operations at both facilities.

The distribution centres in NCR and Bangalore cater to dealers of Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Porsche and Lamborghini across North India, East India and South India. DB Schenker says it has, in the past, successfully handled customs clearance, inbound transportation from port and warehousing in other parts of India. With the commencement of new locations in Gurgaon and Bangalore, DB Schenker is now able to provide logistics services to the automotive sector in the NCR and Bangalore as well.

Commenting on the development, Shrichand Chimnani, senior director, Logistics – Schenker India, said, “The strategic partnership with Volkswagen Group Sales India will create a new chapter in automotive logistics solutions in India.”
