Safexpress training arm inks MoU with VECV for driver training schools

Safeducate, the education and training arm of supply chain and logistics company Safexpress, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV). Divya Jain, founder and CEO, Safeducate, signed the MoU with Vinod Aggarwal, CEO, VECV last month at VECV’s corporate headquarters in Gurgaon.

Since its inception in 2007, Safeducate has been partnering with a number of government and private bodies to work in the area of skilling youth in the supply chain and logistics field. The firm has been credited with launching India’s first Container School.

Commenting on the MoU, Divya Jain said, “Safeducate is proud to partner with VECV for creating driver training schools. We have been training drivers regularly over the years, and have even created driver residential and recreational facilities at our logistics parks. We have improved processes significantly to expedite the turnaround of vehicles at our facilities. We also keep the average driving time limited to 8 hours at a stretch for a driver, unlike a common scenario in the country where drivers are forced to drive for 12-14 hours in tough Indian conditions.”

She added, “The main objective of this collaboration with VECV is to familiarise new and existing drivers with safe and appropriate driving techniques, so as to get the best fuel efficiency from the vehicles besides driving in a safe manner to avoid accidents. The project aims to promote the profession of Driving among career aspirants.”

“This strategic partnership with VECV, an auto major with international backing and experience, will help us gain access to the best of driver training material, techniques and tools, which will further enable us to create more and better drivers. As a part of our rollout plan, we would soon be launching two driver training schools, in association with VECV.”
