BEST to run trials of CNG-hybrid buses

BEST has a fleet comprising 3400 buses of which 50 percent are CNG-powered.

Tata Motors Marcopolo has developed a CNG-Electric hybrid bus as part of its Starbus brand and given two to BEST, which runs Mumbai’s public transport service, for trial runs. These buses were handed over on 17 June by Tata Motors’ head of commercial vehicles, Ravi Pisharody to Sunil Shinde, BEST chairman. (pictured) BEST has a fleet comprising 3400 buses of which 50 percent are CNG-powered.
