Renault India sells 3,763 units in July, posts 111 percent YoY growth

Chennai, August 1, 2013: Renault India has registered sales of 3,763 units in July 2013 (July 2012: 1,776 units). The popular Duster SUV, which was launched a year ago in July 2012, accounted for 3,089 units, the Scala 371 units, Pulse 292 units, Fluence 10 units and Koleos 1 unit.

“Renault has had a very eventful two years in India, achieving sales volumes, network reach and brand visibility,” said Marc Nassif, managing director, Renault India. “The Duster has played a crucial part not just in Renault’s success in India, but also in spearheading the changing landscape of the Indian automotive industry,” said Sumit Sawhney, executive director, Marketing & Sales, Renault India. “We are confident that the Duster’s unbeatable roominess, performance and innovation will continue driving its competitiveness in the market,” he added.

The carmaker has, over the past two years, expanded its network of dealerships considerably – from 14 outlets in May 2011 to 100 locations at the end of 2012 – and also strengthened dealer personnel teams.
