December 30, 2013: Chinese manufacturer Qoros is planning to unveil its second production model at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show to be held from March 6-16. The company has released a couple of teaser images shown here.
The new car, which is due to go on sale in China in 2014, is reputed to retain the "elegant design and high specification of the Qoros 3 Saloon", and is based on the same platform.
Qoros says that the new car is designed to appeal to the "young, modern, always connected' metropolitan customer". Few technical details have been confirmed, but the new car is stated to feature LED rear lamp clusters, a cloud-based infotainment system and an eight-inch touchscreen.
The manufacturer had previously confirmed plans to launch estate and crossover models of the Qoros 3, one of which may transpire to be the next production model, judging by the teaser sketches and older concept models.
A large saloon and a large SUV are also in the initial design stages, according to reports, and the manufacturer intends to expand its line-up to ultimately offer a "comprehensive range of models in all major vehicle segments."
Qoros has also announced its intentions to launch new models every six to 12 months; this new car will follow on from the Qoros 3 Saloon. The Qoros 3 Sedan, which made its world premiere at the 2013 Geneva and Shanghai Motor Shows, became the first car developed in China to be awarded five stars in Euro NCAP crash tests.
