Oil PSUs skill development institute to come up in Bhubaneswar
The Skill Development Institute (SDI) will offer short courses on a spectrum of skills ranging from simple to more complex ones related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), 3D printing and Advanced Robotics.
The President of India, Ram Nath Govind, addressed the sixth convocation of IIT Bhubaneshwar and inaugurated the ICT-IOC (Institute of Chemical Technology - Indian Oil Corporation) Bhubaneswar campus on March 18, 2018. He also laid the foundation stone of the Skill Development Institute (SDI) of oil PSUs.
The ICT-IOC campus will offer a five-year integrated Masters in Technology (MTech) programme after class 12, an executive MTech programme for industrial personnel, and a PhD programme. In addition, this campus will be a hub for carrying out high-end research and innovation as well as support skill development in fields such as chemical engineering, petrochemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and energy.
The Skill Development Institute (SDI) will offer short courses on a spectrum of skills ranging from simple to more complex ones related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), 3D printing and Advanced Robotics. The SDI Bhubaneswar will be the country’s first skill development institute in the hydrocarbons sector. This institute aims to train about 50,000 youth over the next 10 years.
