Porsche India powers up H1 CY2022 with best-ever sales

Surging demand for SUVs sees Cayenne and Macan drive Porsche India’s sales of 378 units in the January-June 2022 period. All-electric Taycan with 37 units is next best-seller

Porsche India’s sales of 378 units constitutes a 118% YoY increase in the first-half of CY2022 over the same period in 2021.

The Cayenne (167 units) and Macan (125 units) continued to be the best-sellers in India and accounted for 77% of the total sales of 378 Porsches between January and June.

All-electric Taycan, whose on-road price starts at Rs 1.50 crore and goes up to Rs 2.29 crore for the Turbo S variant, sold 37 units in H1 2022.

Like other luxury carmakers in India, Porsche too is seeing strong demand for its model range. Porsche India, with 378 new car deliveries, has recorded 118% sales growth for the first half of 2022.

Overcoming continual challenges that impact the automotive industry worldwide, Porsche India has delivered more cars between January to June this year than the individual full year figures from 2018, 2019 and 2020. In CY2021, the German carmaker had sold 474 units.

The surging demand for SUVs saw the Cayenne (167 units) and Macan (125 units) accounting for 77% of all sales, followed by the all-electric Taycan with 37 units. Porsche’s iconic 911 Coupé recorded 27 units and the family-sized limousine Panamera accounted for 19 sales.
