The Piaggio Group has opened its second premium retail Motoplex store in India, in Hyderabad and its first in south India. The Motoplex, spread across 4,134 square feet, is located at Jubilee Hills.

Motoplex multi-brand stores have already been set up in Milan, New York City, Shanghai and Beijing where all the Piaggio Group brands coexist.

“It is a proud moment for Piaggio Group to bring our flagship store to Hyderabad, our second in India and first in the south of the country. Motoplex as a concept introduces the passion of Italian biking all under one roof by offering an exciting overview of the two-wheeler world, reflecting the innovative vision of the Piaggio Group. The store not only showcases the longstanding history of our brands – Vespa, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi – but also highlights their fascinating journey that proudly stands for ‘Made in Italy’,” said Stefano Pelle, managing director and CEO of Piaggio Vehicles.

He added, “With the display of various brands from the Piaggio Group stable, the Motoplex store aims to achieve the same success it has had internationally. Hyderabad as a two-wheeler market has always been of strategic importance to us and it was a logical move to bring this concept store first to the city of Nizams before venturing into other cities where similar launches are being planned.”

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL) is a 100% subsidiary of Piaggio Group, which manufactures scooters and motorcycles as well as three- and four-wheeled commercial vehicles with a portfolio of brands including Piaggio, Vespa, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi and Apé.

PVPL commenced its India operations in 1999 with the launch of the Apé. The Vespa scooter was launched in India in April 2012. The company has a state-of-the-art plant in Baramati, Maharashtra, where it manufactures the Vespa alongside its wide range of three and four wheeled commercial vehicles.
