Philipp von Sahr to succeed Dr Andreas Schaaf as president of BMW Group India

Munich, July 6, 2012: Philipp von Sahr (54), currently president of BMW Group Belgium-Luxemburg, will succeed Dr Andreas Schaaf (42) as president of BMW Group India, effective October 1, 2012.

Munich, July 6, 2012: Philipp von Sahr (54), currently president of BMW Group Belgium-Luxemburg, will succeed Dr Andreas Schaaf (42) as president of BMW Group India, effective October 1, 2012. Dr Andreas Schaaf is to assume a new executive position at BMW Group Headquarters in Munich.

During the tenure of Dr Andreas Schaaf as president, BMW India successfully stood ground in a fiercely competitive environment and maintained its Number One position in the Indian luxury car market.

Born in 1958, Philipp von Sahr has completed his Master of Business Administration from the University of Munich. He began his career with BMW AG in Munich in 1987. Prior to joining BMW Group Belgium-Luxemburg, von Sahr was the head of sales for BMW Group Germany.
