Petrol price down by 80 paise a litre, diesel by Rs 1.30

As per a statement from leading oil marketing company IndianOil Corporation, petrol price has been cut by 80 paise a litre in Delhi and that of diesel by Rs 1.30 a litre. With this, petrol will now cost Rs 59.20 in Delhi, Rs 66.81 in Kolkata, Rs 66.69 in Mumbai and Rs 61.90 in Chennai. The latest price of diesel per litre is Rs 47.20 in Delhi, Rs 52.08 in Kolkata, Rs 54.26 in Mumbai and Rs 50.21 in Chennai.
Fuel prices were last revised downwards on April 2 – petrol by 49 paise a litre and diesel by Rs 1.21 a litre. Since then, the trend in global crude oil prices and the Indian rupee versus US dollar change have warranted a further downward revision in prices.
