Bangalore-based Pacefic Blues Marketing plans to set up retail outlets for car care services with products made by Speciality Industries of the UK. The Rs 8 crore company has exclusive dealership rights with Speciality for India and nine neighbouring countries.

It offers car care services through bike and car dealers but clearly wants a larger presence. Director of the company, Gigimol Johnson said this would also cater to the rapidly growing used car segment. Pacefic plans to open outlets in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai over the next year.

EXPANSION PLANS

The company has earmarked nearly Rs 2 crore as investment for the first phase. Each outlet will house key functions like cleaning, polishing, servicing, parking and the front office. The flagship product of Speciality Industries is PTFE (poly tetra fluro ethylene) acrylic nanotech coating, which protects vehicle paints. The company also offers 200 varieties of products to protect car interiors and bodyshop-related products.

Speciality has got approval from Hindustan Petroleum to sell its products at its outlets. Pacefic Blues imports products in bulk and repacks them at its Chandrapura unit. The company has signed a deal with Acheson Industries of the Netherlands to retail specialty coatings for automotive applications, additives, specialty lubricants, electrical coating and shield casings in south and north India.

Pacefic Blues has floated a new company, PBM Lubricant, which will import raw materials and do the blending it at its Chandrapura unit. “We will invest Rs 5 crore in a blending and packaging facility,” said managing director, Johnson Jesudass. A team will shortly leave for France for training in production. He said Acheson has over 1,000 products, of which 25 relating to maintenance and lubrication will be manufactured by PBM Lubricants. These will be high volume categories and this business could see the turnover of Pacefic Blues cross Rs 25 crore this fiscal.
