Nissan to woo ‘affluent aspiring customers’ in India with the Terrano

Just a few weeks after launching the Micra Active hatchback, Nissan Motor India unveiled the Terrano, its first compact SUV in the Indian market. But unlike the Micra Active, which has lowered the entry level price to the Nissan brand, the Terrano is set to show off a premium attitude in the market.

Despite the overall downturn in the market, the SUV segment is the only promising one with scope for further expansion. That’s exactly what Nissan aims to capitalise on with the Terrano when the SUV goes on sale in October.

Autocar Professional’s Sumantra Barooah spoke to Kenichiro Yomura, MD and CEO, Nissan Motor India, where the chief executive speaks about the positioning of the Terrano and how it could well be one of the top selling, if not the best-selling, Nissan model in India.
