June 21, 2012: Nissan Motor India inaugurated its fourth dealership in Kerala, Manumatic Nissan in Kannur today. The dealership, which is Nissan’s fourth in Kerala and located at a prime location in Thottada, was inaugurated by Manoj Kumar, vice-president, Operations, Hover Automotive India (HAI). HAI is Nissan’s exclusive strategic alliance partner in India to handle sales and marketing, dealer development, customer relationship management and aftersales.

Inaugurating the dealership, which is a 3S (Space, Sales & Service) facility, Manoj Kumar said: “Nissan has been making every attempt to reach out to its customers as close to their locations as possible, and has successfully opened over 64 dealerships in a span of two years.”

Nissan Motor India currently manufactures the Micra hatchback and Sunny saloon at its Oragadam plant in Tamil Nadu, which has a capacity of 200,000 units per annum. The company recently reported a 98 percent increase in year-on-year sales for May 2012, selling 3,138 units as against 1,588 units sold in May 2011. Growth was driven mainly by sales of the Sunny diesel; since its launch in September 2011, the Sunny has sold 18,753 units.

The company is now gearing up for the Evalia MPV launch later this year.
