The green shoots in the automotive industry is not just limited to sales. Hiring too is seeing some positive trends. A survey done by leading job portal Naukri.com reveals that Suzuki, Cars24, Exide, Royal Enfield, L&T and TVS Motor are amongst the top companies looking to hire potential candidates.

Though the current numbers are still 25 percent less than the pre-Covid levels, the positive trend has continued since June as the sector began to limp to normalcy after complete shutdown on account of a nationwide lockdown starting March.

This news comes in the backdrop of record wholesales announced by most of the OEMs during the ongoing festive season.

According to a statement by Naukri.com, “When we compare the performance of this sector between the pre- and post-Covid period, there has been an evident recovery, but it still remains down by 25 percent in September vs pre-Covid period.”

According to the survey, the top roles that recruiters are hiring for includes Production Manager, Industrial Engineer, Sales/Business Development Manager, Service Maintenance Engineer, QA/QC Engineer, Design Engineer and Accountant. Roles such as Project Manager – Manufacturing, Service Maintenance Engineer and Production Manager have seen a 57 percent, 46 percent and 22 percent growth in demand on a year-on-year basis.

“Keywords such as Production Manager, Quality Engineer and Sales are amongst the top searched by jobseekers on the Naukri platform” the portal added.
