MG Motor India registers 41 percent growth in August sales

MG Motor India has reported its sales for the month of August, and the company has registered a 41 percent year-on-year growth with a total of 2,851 units (August 2019: 2,018). On a month-on-month basis, it’s a 35 percent growth over sales of 2,105 units in July, 2020.

With easing of restrictions across the country, the company is witnessing increased traction from the segment of family buyers who prefer personal mobility solutions over other means of transportation for their movement.

According to Rakesh Sidana, director – Sales, MG Motor India, “We have ramped up the overall production in August compared to July. We are working on fulfilling existing backorders for the Hector and prioritising vehicle deliveries for the ongoing festive season. The recovery in upcountry markets has been faster which should augur well during the festive season.”

Now, as it readies to launch the upcoming MG Gloster SUV, the company is also betting big on the recently announced EV policies from the Delhi and Telangana governments to see a spur in sales of its all-electric ZS EV crossover.
