Mercedes-Benz India opens its 94th dealer facility in Kolhapur

The Trinity Motors outlet, Mercedes’ 94th across 47 cities in India, spans a massive 52,000 square feet, has four dedicated service bays and can cater to over 1,000 cars annually.

Mercedes-Benz, now in its 25th year in India, today further expanded its service dealership network in the country. The new state-of-the-art service facility in Kolhapur is Trinity Motors’ third outlet in the state of Maharashtra and the carmaker’s 94th outlet across 47 cities in India. Located on the Kolhapur-Bangalore highway, it is easily accessible from Kolhapur and adjoining areas.

Spread across a humongous 52,000 square feet, the facility is set up in one of India’s fastest emerging markets. Designed to be a one-stop-shop solution for all service requirements, it is Mercedes-Benz’ 15th service facility in Maharashtra and the 32nd outlet in West India. The new facility was inaugurated by Martin Schwenk, MD and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and Gaurav Ghatge, executive director, Trinity Motors.

Set up with an investment of around Rs 4 crore, the new unit was set up in barely  nine months. With 4 service bays for preventive maintenance and general repairs and 10 professionally trained staff, it can serve up to 1,000 cars in a year. The facility, which is designed in a modular structure, can be expanded in the future. The facility also houses a customer lounge, a dedicated merchandise and accessories section and a digital service drive kiosk.

Targeting Tier 2 and 3 markets for speedier growth
Speaking at the inauguration, Martin Schwenk said: “Over the years, Mercedes-Benz has become synonymous with quality customer services. We believe that service excellence will be the differentiating factor in the luxury car segment. With 66 service touch-points, today, Mercedes-Benz has the highest number of service facilities in India amidst the luxury car segment. We will continue to up the ante with our innovative efforts towards customer services.”

He added, “Tier 2 and 3 markets are significantly contributing to India’s growth story as one of the fastest growing automotive hubs, globally. Nearly one-third of our sales come from these regions and we see immense potential. This is a result of our ‘Go to Customer’ strategy, which aims to get closer to the customers.”
