Mercedes-Benz India sells 1,749 cars in Q2, 2013

July 1, 2013: Riding on handsome demand for the A-class hatchback launched on May 30, Mercedes-Benz India has reported sales of 1,749 units in Q2 2013 (April-June 2012: 1327 units). This is a 32 percent year-on-year growth, the highest growth quarter for the luxury carmaker in the last eight quarters. The company says the M-class, GL-class, E-class and C-class cars have also notched good sales. Its latest launch was that of the new E-class on June 25. The B-class CDI is set to be launched on July 11.
Commenting on the sales performance, Eberhard Kern, managing director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “2013 is the year of offensive for Mercedes-Benz in India. Our fully refreshed product line-up, with new segment introductions, has received an overwhelming response from the customers. This has helped us achieve record results in Q2 2013.”
