Mercedes-Benz opens new state-of-the-art workshop in Mangalore
Expands its southern India network to 23 outlets, the densest for any luxury carmaker in India.
In line with its network expansion strategy, Mercedes-Benz India inaugurated its sixth outlet this year in Mangalore.
Sundaram Motors Mangalore, located on the Bangalore Highway, BC Road, was inaugurated by Santosh Iyer, vice-president (Aftersales and Retail Training), Mercedes-Benz India and Sharath Vijayaraghavan, executive director, Sundaram Motors, on October 6.
Speaking on the occasion, Santosh Iyer said, “Mercedes-Benz aims to drive service excellence in the luxury car segment and the inauguration of this state-of-art workshop underlines our customer-centric approach. We believe increasing service satisfaction will determine a luxury brand’s success in the market and facilities like Sundaram Mangalore underscores our competitive edge. Pursuing this philosophy, we recently introduced the one-of-its kind innovative programme ‘My Mercedes My Service’, which aims towards driving service excellence by comprehensively transforming the after-sales experience for our discerning customers. Sundaram Motors’ Mangalore workshop has integrated the novel ‘Digital Service Drive’, which is a key element of the ‘My Mercedes My Service’ initiative. We are confident such facilities will significantly enhance the overall ownership experience by reducing of turnaround time and offering higher transparency through use of latest technology”.

Sundaram Motors’ Sharath Vijayaraghavan commented, “With the inauguration of this splendid workshop, we have strengthened our presence in the incessantly burgeoning Mangalore market, where we have been witnessing a surge in demand for Mercedes-Benz cars.”
Sundaram Motors’ facility, which is spread across 27,237 square feet, has a team of 15 professionally trained staff and an investment of Rs 5.50 crore. The workshop is capable of servicing 150 cars in a month.
The Mangalore workshop is the sixth outlet to be inaugurated as part of the luxury carmaker’s network expansion strategy in 2016. At present, it has 86 outlets across 40 cities in India, the largest for a luxury carmaker in India.
