Mercedes-Benz opens its 87th dealership in India
Silver Star in Hyderabad is luxury carmaker’s 87th outlet across 40 cities in the country.
Mercedes-Benz has expanded its dealer network in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by inaugurating a state-of-the-art dealership in the key Hyderabad market.
This is in line with the German luxury carmaker’s ‘Winning’ strategy in India which includes the launch of 12 new models and 10 new outlets. In 2016, till now, Mercedes-Benz has inaugurated new outlets in cities like Pune, Vijayawada, New Delhi, Nagpur, Ahmedabad and Mangalore. Silver Star, the new dealership in Hyderabad, becomes its 87th outlet across 40 cities in India.
Silver Star boasts of having the largest single-floor showroom across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and is located in Banjara Hills. The showroom was inaugurated by Roland Folger, managing director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, and Amith Reddy, principal owner, Silver Star.
Speaking on the occasion, Folger said, “The southern market remains one of the strong growth drivers for Mercedes-Benz nationally, and we are satisfied with the steady demand for the brand in this important market. Silver Star is our second dealership in Hyderabad and with its inauguration, we will further strengthen our foothold in this burgeoning luxury car market. Strategic network expansion comprising introduction into new markets and expanding our presence in existing market, remains a key pillar of our growth story in India.”
The state-of-the-art dealership, which is spread across 20,000 square feet, can showcase 11 cars and houses the first ever ‘Premium Customer Lounge’ in India. It will also house Café Mercedes, a section dedicated to complete range of new cars and also official Mercedes-Benz merchandise and accessories.
The workshop, located at B29 & 30, Industrial Estate, Sanathnagar, covers 50,000 square feet and can service 6,000 cars in a year. The workforce comprises 48 well-trained staff at the workshop, and 42 at the showroom. The investment across both the showroom and the workshop is Rs 37 crore.
In 2016, Mercedes-Benz has inaugurated new outlets in cities like Pune, Vijayawada, New Delhi, Nagpur, Ahmedabad and Mangalore.
