Maxxis Tyres aims to have 200 dealerships and 6% market share in Gujarat

As part of its plans, the tyre maker will strengthen its existing network of dealers and add premium dealerships to tap the performance-oriented segment of customers in this state.

Maxxis India, one of the world’s fastest growing tyre companies has announced its plans to grab 6 percent market share in Gujarat by 2021. The company says Gujarat is one of the fastest growing two-wheeler markets for Maxxis in India.

As part of its plans, the tyre maker will strengthen its existing network of dealers and add premium dealerships to tap the performance-oriented segment of customers in this state. The idea is to have more than 200 premium dealerships in the state. At present, it has a wide distributor-base in Gujarat in these key markets – Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Valsad.

Commenting on the business plan, Bing-Lin Wu, marketing head – Maxxis India said, “Gujarat being our home state, we want to intensify our footprint in this region to cater to one of the ever-evolving and fastest growing two-wheeler markets in India. Covid vaccine has altered sentiments and brought in new hope for markets to operate. We are optimistic about the future and aims to add 200 premium dealerships in Gujarat to tap the requirements of the millennial generation.”

In terms of overall target, Maxxis India aims to capture a market share of at least 15 percent of India’s two-wheeler tyre market by 2023. The country is expected to play a vital role in achieving Maxxis’s global vision to become one of the top 5 tyre manufactures in the world by 2026. Apart from catering to the domestic tyre market, the product portfolio from the Sanand, Ahmedabad facility will be exported to South Asia and will further expand to Africa and Middle East countries in the coming years. The company also has plans to set up 5 more plants in India which will also cater to the 4-wheeler tyres market.
