Maruti likely to recall 150,000 Dzires
Maruti Suzuki India is likely to initiate what could be the single largest auto recall exercise for a single model in the country.
Maruti Suzuki India is likely to initiate what could be the single largest auto recall exercise for a single model in the country. According to reports, the recall is for a faulty fuel filler neck, which is connected to the fuel tank, on the Swift Dzire models manufactured in 2013 and 2014. Priced between Rs 4.85-Rs 7.32 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Swift Dzire is among the top three best-selling cars in the country.
While Maruti has not yet issued an official statement as regards the recall, it is understood that the carmaker is already going about replacing the faulty fuel neck filler in unsold units at dealerships.
This recall, when confirmed, will be the second recall in recent months for the company. Last year, in November, Maruti had recalled 1,492 units comprising the Swift hatchback (176 petrol/416 diesel), Swift Dzire (130 petrol/451 diesel), Ertiga (78 petrol/228 diesel), and the A-star (13 petrol) models produced in October 2013 to check for unapproved steering column assembly.
In February 2010, Maruti had recalled about 100,000 units of its flagship A-star export model to replace a faulty fuel pump component.
