Maruti focuses on Swift at Manesar
Maruti Suzuki is focusing exclusively on the Swift at the Manesar plant in order to ensure that buyers who have booked it can get their cars. The Manesar unit will now make 800 diesel-powered Swifts and 275 Swift petrols per day. The plant’s normal production schedule includes the SX4, Swift, A-star and Dzire and it rolled out 1,200 vehicles a day before the recent strike.

Maruti Suzuki is focusing exclusively on the Swift at the Manesar plant in order to ensure that buyers who have booked it can get their cars. The Manesar unit will now make 800 diesel-powered Swifts and 275 Swift petrols per day. The plant’s normal production schedule includes the SX4, Swift, A-star and Dzire and it rolled out 1,200 vehicles a day before the recent strike.
This will be the likely plan till the Manesar plant’s six-day shutdown for annual maintenance, starts 27 June 2011, Maruti clearly wants to ensure that it is ahead of competition by churning out more Swifts now. The Swift, which completes six years this month sells, on average, 11,000 units a month.
