Chennai, May 9: A major fire broke out at a warehouse near Nissan’s Oragadam plant at the outskirts of Chennai today afternoon.

Chennai, May 9: A major fire broke out at a warehouse near Nissan’s Oragadam plant at the outskirts of Chennai today afternoon. According to a company spokesperson, there has been no report of any human injury in the incident. The warehouse contained parts used for Nissan vehicles produced at the Oragadam facility.

The Micra hatchback, Sunny midsizer and Evalia MPV are produced at the plant. It is not clear yet if the fire incident will have any adverse impact in the production of these models. “A team has gone to the site to get more details of the incident,” says a company spokesperson.

The fire reportedly broke out during lunch break today. The warehouse is learnt to have contained parts like tyres windshields.
