Mumbai, September 2, 2013: Mahindra Two Wheelers, whose recently launched Centuro motorcycle has totted up over 30,000 bookings, sold 17,719 units in August, a growth of 66 percent while domestic volumes stood at 15,346 units, a growth of 53 percent over the previous year.
The company is rapidly enhancing production to meet this strong demand for the bike. Designed entirely in-house at the company’s R&D Centre in Pune, the Mahindra Centuro sports a host of patented category innovations and features which the company says address practical consumer needs that have never been seen before in motorcycles.
The Centuro is powered by an indigenously developed intelligent MCi-5 (Micro Chip ignited-5 curve) engine. Mahindra Two Wheelers, whose market share in two-wheelers is under one percent, will hope the Centuro can help it gain numbers as the festive season kicks off. A good monsoon could help deliver the numbers for the company.
