Mahindra Tractors clocks 24% sales growth in May 2013
Mumbai, June 3, 2013: Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) has sold a total of 23,626 tractors in May 2013 as against 19,016 units in May 2012, a growth of 24 percent.
Mumbai, June 3, 2013: Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) has sold a total of 23,626 tractors in May 2013 as against 19,016 units in May 2012, a growth of 24 percent. The company’s domestic sales have grown by 25 percent, at 22,471 units during the month.
Speaking on the performance, Rajesh Jejurikar, chief executive, Tractor and Farm Mechanization, Mahindra & Mahindra (pictured above), said, “We are delighted with the 24 perrcent growth during May 2013 and are happy to have achieved a consistent growth over the last two months which we are sure will have a positive impact on the overall tractor industry. The prospect of a good monsoon would also add buoyancy to the farmers’ morale and lead to a stronger growth for the overall agricultural sector”.
Exports during May 2013 were 1,155 units, a 16 percent growth over May 2012.
