Mahindra has launched a mid-cycle facelift of its Xylo MPV and also added a new top-end E9 variant. The updated Xylo gets a new grille, a flatter bonnet and slightly re-styled headlamps. The chin gets small extensions and a new bumper. The car’s side profile remains unchanged except the new black-plastic wheel arch extensions and matte-black footboards which lend it a more upmarket look. At the rear, the tail-lamps are updated and there’s a black D-pillar too.

The top-end E9 variant gets two-tone shade for the dashboard, leather seats, a new gear lever and steering-mounted audio controls. Also on offer is an all-new voice command system that allows switching on the headlights, wipers and even changing the radio station via voice commands.

Engine choices remain the same except the addition of a 120bhp mHawk engine from the Scorpio, which is exclusive to the Xylo E9 variant.

Speaking at the launch in Mumbai on February 8, Pravin Shah, chief executive, automotive division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said: “The stylish new Xylo further enhances value to customer by being more stylish, premium, tech-packed and comfortable. I am sure that it will heighten its appeal not only among its core customers but also among people looking at options amongst saloons, MPVs and SUVs alike. In fact, the best-in-class features combined with the attractive price of the new Xylo will make it a truly irresistible value proposition.”
