Eight months after it introduced the XUV300 in the domestic market, Mahindra & Mahindra has recalled a limited batch of its compact XUV300 SUV to inspect and replace a suspension component. The company notification does not specify the number of XUV300s recalled.

The inspection and subsequent rectification exercise will be carried out free of cost for all XUV300 customers and M&M will be contacting the affected customers individually. This action is in compliance with SIAM’s voluntary code on vehicle recall. Alternatively, customers can also visit the website and check if their vehicle is part of the service action.

Launched on February 14, 2019, the XUV300 has sold 33,102 units thus far – 24,370 diesel and 8,732 petrol. The compact SUV has averaged monthly sales of 3,678 units since launch and is among the prime sellers for Mahindra.

The XUV300 is based on the SsangYong Tivoli’s X100 platform, which has been modified and altered to fit within the crucial sub-four-metre length. That said, the XUV300 is still the widest compact SUV on sale and also has the longest wheelbase in its class.
