Mahindra launches more powerful top-end variant of TUV300
Powered by the all-new mHAWK 100 engine, instead of the standard mHawk 80, the new variant is priced at Rs 8.87 lakh (ex-Mumbai).
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has launched a more powerful version of the TUV300 with the all-new mHAWK 100 engine. Whereas the previous standard variant was powered by the mHawk 80 engine, the new engine delivers a power of 100 bhp and will be available in the top end variants of T8 & T8 AMT in the TUV300. The upgraded TUV300 is priced at Rs 8.87 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
The mHawk100 engine is the same unit that is seen in the Mahindra NuvoSport. In terms of layout and capacity, the engine is similar to the mHawk80 (1,498cc, 3 cylinders), but changes to its calibration allow the higher power output. It comes mated to either an AMT or five-speed manual gearbox.
While there are no changes in the exterior and interior, both the mHawk 80 and 100 engine variants of the TUV300 feature a larger rear seat cushion to increase thigh support for rear passengers. Both the variants of the compact SUV will be sold concurrently.
Speaking on the launch of the TUV300 with mHAWK 100engine, Pravin Shah, president & chief executive (Automotive), M&M said, “At Mahindra it has always been our endeavour to incorporate consumer insights and feedback and hence we are happy to introduce the more powerful TUV300 with the mHawk 100engine. Further the TUV300 AMT T8 variant will offer a more thrilling drive with the upgraded power. With over 25,000 TUV300s on Indian roads, it has emerged as a strong player in its segment. With its all new powerful engine as well as a winning combination of bold true-blue SUV design, premium & elegant interiors, superior driving pleasure and best in class safety, the TUV300 will become an even more compelling value proposition for our customers.”
