Mahindra Jeeto small CV to roll out from Zaheerabad plant

On April 22, Mahindra & Mahindra inaugurated its extended Zaheerabad plant which will roll out the Jeeto (codename P601).

Mahindra & Mahindra’s soon-to-be-launched all-new small commercial vehicle (codename P601) is named ‘Jeeto’.  Targeted at the market leader, the Tata Ace, Mahindra says the Jeeto is designed to cater to the varied needs of the small commercial load segment customers.  

The vehicle will be manufactured at Mahindra’s extended automotive manufacturing facility at Zaheerabad in Telengana.

The Zaheerabad plant will manufacture sub-one tonne commercial vehicles which include four-wheel load and passenger vehicles, in addition to the UVs, LCVs and three-wheelers which are currently manufactured there. 

Speaking on the Mahindra Jeeto, Pravin Shah, president and chief executive (Automotive), M&M, said: “We are all set to create a new benchmark in the small commercial vehicle segment with the Jeeto. With the Jeeto, we are planning to create a compelling new value proposition that will not only challenge the conventional but will also delight our customers”.

The company is also set to introduce the new-generation, direct injection m_Dura diesel engine with  the Jeeto. It is claimed to provide refined performance and fuel efficiency.

On April 22 this year, Mahindra & Mahindra inaugurated its extended manufacturing facility at Zaheerabad which will roll out the Jeeto. The plant has an enhanced production capacity of 92,000 vehicles per annum,  while the overall plant capacity will be 140,000 vehicles per annum.
