Lamborghini launches Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder in India at Rs 3.89 crore
Like the Huracán LP 610-4 coupé, the Spyder is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine that produces 610hp and 560Nm of torque.
Lamborghini has launched the Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder in India at Rs 3.89 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car made its world debut at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show, and is the third variant of the Huracán to be launched in India.
The car was launched at Lamborghini’s new showroom in Mumbai in the presence of its new dealer partners, Jubilant Sports Cars Pvt Ltd. Speaking to Autocar India, Sharad Agarwal, head of Lamborghini India, said that the Huracán coupé would be its main seller, but the company expects the Spyder to constitute about 20 percent of the sales. It is also understood that the Spyder will be followed by more variants as Lamborghini is in a bid to maintain the momentum of last year, which was its best year in India so far.
Like the Huracán LP 610-4 coupé, the Spyder is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine that produces 610hp and 560Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The Spyder weighs 1,542kg, which makes it 120kg heavier than the Huracán coupé. The increase in weight comes from the fabric roof and its retracting mechanism. However, the added weight doesn't seem to have affected the car’s performance significantly, as it is claimed to have a 0-100kph acceleration time of 3.4sec, just 0.2sec behind the regular car. With a top speed of 324kph, the Spyder is only marginally slower than the coupé.
The highlight of the Huracán Spyder however, is its soft-top fabric roof that can be operated at speeds up to 50kph. It can be raised or lowered in 18 seconds.
Besides the Spyder, other variants of the Lamborghini Huracán available in India include the LP 610-4 and the rear-wheel drive-LP580-2.
