Austrian bikemaker KTM conducted the first India edition of KTM Adventure Day aimed at impacting trail riding and off-roading skills to owners of its motorcycles in Pune on December 20.

The closed-circuit program is specially designed under the guidance of KTM international athletes and is anchored by KTM’s master trainers. The participants were awarded a Bronze Level certification for clearing the single-day training program. The event is aimed at delivering an exciting, premium and pro-biking experience and was attended by KTM Adventure customers from Mumbai and Pune, who went through multiple drills to sharpen their off-roading skills, under the guidance of KTM master trainer – Varad More and his team of experts.

The KTM Adventure Day has been conceptualised with the purpose of spreading the culture of adventure biking amongst the Indian riding community. The event promises to engage experienced riders with some of the best off-roading drills and rides while beginner riders get an opportunity to make their first move towards developing their skills off tarmac. At the event in Pune, customers were trained on the theory of bike setup and controls, bike lifting, postures, long distance tour planning and also improved their ride skills through multiple drills like slalom, hill recovery, figure of 8 and power turns among others.

The bikemaker says it will conduct the Adventure Days regularly in 7 cities across the country over the next few months. It also features a masterclass by distinguished master trainers and certified off-road experts. The Master Trainers are established riders and specialists for trails and tarmac. They will be the guiding force behind this property and will be responsible for training a team of KTM experts, curate these events and join the owners to share their skills and learnings.  KTM has roped in prominent names like Nilesh Dhumal, head trainer for Big Rock Dirt Park; Ouseph Chacko, founder and instructor, School of Dirt; Philippe Geelhand, founder and instructor, PP Adventure Rides and Varad More, trainer at 21 Enduro Park as the master trainers.

Sumeet Narang, president – Probiking, Bajaj Auto said “KTM is the most loved European motorcycling brand among the biking enthusiasts in India and we would like to provide world class pro-biking experiences to our customers. The KTM 390 Adventure and KTM 250 Adventure have seen a phenomenal response since their launch and hold promise of offering a truly capable and versatile adventure tourer to biking enthusiasts. When customers buy a KTM Adventure, they would not only get an outstanding machine but also access to exclusive adventure riding events which have been specially curated by certified off-road experts as per the International curriculum of KTM. We are delighted to announce KTM Adventure Day which gives an opportunity for all our owners to learn essential techniques of trail and off-road riding, which will help them get more out of their KTM Adventure bikes.”

Since its entry into India in 2012, KTM has grown its presence to over 365 cities and 460 stores. It has a strong customer base of over 270,000 biking enthusiasts in this short period of time making India the largest global market for KTM.
