KPIT Cummins appoints Toshimi Yamanoi as VP, Automotive Tech

September 12, 2012: KPIT Cummins has announced the appointment of Toshimi Yamanoi as vice-president – automotive technology. Based in Tokyo, Yamanoi will focus on strengthening and streamlining the company’s offerings for automotive OEMs.
Yamanoi brings in more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and has vehicle safety technology as his core area of expertise. He is well known in the industry for his contribution in developing projects such as occupant protection systems, pedestrian protection test method and frontal & side crash test methods. He serves as the Chairman of the Vehicle Safety committee of JAMA (Japanese Auto Manufacturers’ Association) and has been awarded the Special Safety Award by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in US DOT (Department of Transportation) at the Enhanced Safety Vehicle Conference in Japan. He joins KPIT Cummins from Nissan, where he was the general manager, Technical Planning Department at the Nissan Technology Development Division.
