Kia kick starts Carens production, February launch likely
The Carens, manufactured in India, will be exported to over 80 countries.
Kia India rolled out the first Kia Carens, from its manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Expected to be launched in February, the Kia Carens is the second 'Made-in-India' offering from the company after the Sonet.
The Carens, manufactured in India, will be exported to over 80 countries. Commenting on the occasion, Tae-Jin Park, Managing Director and CEO, Kia India, said, “The Kia Carens is the fourth product we are rolling out in India. Our teams have worked tirelessly to bring out a product that truly reflects and resonates with modern Indian families.”
Kia India has opened the pre-bookings for Carens from January 14, 2022. According to the company, it registered 7,738 bookings in the first 24 hours.
Interestingly Kia India had ended CY2021 with cumulative sales of 2,27,844 units, up 29 percent on a year-on-year basis. Of course, this is on a low base in CY2020. The Kia Seltos is amongst the top contributors followed closely by Sonet and Carnival.
