JK Tyre’s Anshuman Singhania elected ATMA chairman, Michelin India’s Mohan Kumar as vice-chairman

The Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association represents the Rs 60,000 crore tyre industry and 90 percent of tyre production in India.

Anshuman Singhania, Managing Director of JK Tyre & Industries and Mohan Kumar, Executive Director of Michelin India have been elected as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association (ATMA), the national industry body for the automotive tyre sector in India.  

Anshuman Singhania, the new ATMA chairman, is a graduate from Oxford Brookes University, UK and an alumnus of London Business School. He started his career from the shopfloor as an apprentice and has held several positions in Planning, Production, Product Development, Quality Control, Stores & Purchase, Finance as well as Sales & Marketing. He has played a key role in implementing the latest technologies in the manufacturing process at JK Tyre.

A graduate from NIT Trichy and a post-graduate from IIM Bangalore, Mohan Kumar joined the Michelin Group in 2005 and has assumed various leadership roles both in Michelin India and the Michelin USA. Since December 2017, he has been Head of Business of Michelin for India and the SAARC countries.

Set up in 1975, ATMA is amongst the most active national industry bodies in the country representing Rs 60,000 crore (US$8.5 billionn) automotive tyre industry. Nine large tyre companies comprising a mix of Indian and international tyre majors and representing over 90% of production of tyres in India are members of the Association. ATMA members include Apollo Tyres, Bridgestone India, Ceat, Continental India, Goodyear India, JK Tyre & Industries, Michelin, MRF and TVS Tyres.
