India’s first two-wheeler industry conclave in New Delhi on November 16

The Indian automobile sector has been a strong pillar of industrial growth in India and is responsible for a 7.1% contribution to India’s GDP. The sector has been growing at a strong pace with a CAGR of 6.01% from 2010-11 to 2015-16. The highest growth is recorded by the two-wheeler market segment at 7.12%,  along with also having the highest share of Indian automobiles at 78.59%.

For the April-September 2016 period, the two-wheeler sector has posted 17.47% year-on-year growth, selling a total of 9,536,952 units. While scooters continue to see surging demand, motorcycle sales have bounced back in the domestic market.

Challenges but even bigger opportunities

The Indian two-wheeler industry is at a crucial juncture. Upcoming safety regulations, emission norms, new players, emerging market segments, new retail channels and the growing base of young riders, all put together will change the contours of the industry for good. There are challenges, but there are even bigger opportunities in the industry's journey.

To debate and discuss all these vital issues, Autocar Professional is organising a day-long conclave specific to the industry – ‘Two-Wheeler Industry Conclave 2016 – Preparing for a New Era’ on November 16 at the Hyatt Regency in New Delhi.

The conclave will be attended by representatives of two-wheeler OEMs, suppliers and other industry stakeholders. With the Two-Wheeler Industry Conclave 2016, our effort is to create a knowledge forum wherein a wide range of ideas and issues pertaining to this key industry are discussed and solutions to various challenges arrived at.

The conclave will see three key sessions – ‘Preparing for a New Era of Regulations and Technologies’, ‘A New Era of Mobility’, and ‘A New Era in the Marketplace’. The Two-Wheeler Industry Conclave 2016 – Preparing for a New Era will be India's first forum exclusively for the two-wheeler industry stakeholders.
